Powered by a high voltage bus or primary-side auxiliary winding, the SC4911 comes in a space-saving MSOP-8 package and features a 50µA maximum start-up current.
The SC4911’s ultra-low start-up current makes the device especially well-suited for building high-voltage bias, off-line, or isolated DC-DC power supplies for telecommunications, data communications, and other equipment. This controller can substantially ease design effort. For example, the SC4911 can be configured for flyback, as well as forward and boost, topologies. Its switching frequency, which is programmable, goes to 500kHz. In addition, if no optical couplers are used, the auxiliary winding can give output feedback.
